At this weekend I had the opportunity to test the software on an MacIntel machine (iMac, 20″, 512MB Ram). The good news are: Everything works, even WuffCam our webcam solution, which is pretty close to the hardware. Its kind of slow sometimes, but to my surprise it just works! So Rosetta is my friend and Apple did a relly good job here.
Anyway: WuffWuffWare will get an MacIntel machine around February and will work on universal binaries. The bad news here is, that we have to change our licensing code, because eSellerate is not supporting universal binaries with a real integrated seller, but with a web integrated seller. I am unsure, whether I want to go that route, so we will see…
Finally another software released. Grab album artwork for iTunes on the internet through Amazon and Google and other websites. Many thanks to Rory Prior from ThinkMac for doing the artwork and all the beta testers for their help.
This hack gives an example how Mail can be convinced to do drag and drop of email messages into a text view and how to react on that via AppleScript.
Surely you might ask, why not directly work with the data?
Well: Mail is not so cooperative, so you need a hack…
This in no way production code and due to the usage of some internals of Mail, it might not work in any newer version of Mail. The code is used in our internal WuffCustomer application for drag and dropping sales mails and extract the customer data from them. For us it works like a charm, but your milage might vary.
Finally it’s time for WuffWuffWare to start its own blog. This will be a place for product anouncement and a platform for discussions and ramblings about the Mac community.
Enjoy…
